Tlatoani

Tlatoani is a ceremonial necklace from Remy Cristian’s Hidden Gods collection, inspired by the imagery of ancient Mesoamerican rulers, sacred objects, and symbols of power.

At its center, a natural labradorite cabochon crowns an elaborate sculptural pendant, followed by a series of carved faces and symbolic elements. On either side, tiger’s eye stones frame the composition, adding warmth and depth to the piece.

The pendant incorporates a snake rattle, preserved as a symbolic element and evoking the serpent as a powerful figure of transformation, protection, and connection between the earthly and spiritual realms.

The necklace combines natural stone beads, carved elements, and handcrafted metalwork into a single talismanic composition. Its layered structure recalls ceremonial adornment and the visual language of ancient Mesoamerican objects of authority.

The name Tlatoani refers to the ruler or speaker of a city-state in the Nahua world — the one whose word carried authority.
